HCCA Safety Award
At the May 18, 2004 HCCA (Heavy Construction Contractors
Association) dinner meeting Shirley Contracting Corporation's
Safety Officer, John Sewell, accepted the HCCA 2004
Safety Award for Category "A" (highway construction).
The HCCA Safety Awards program was created to recognize
HCCA contracting, manufacturing, and trucking firms
who practice and preach safe business practices on their
jobsites, in their vehicles, and in their facilities.
SCC for the 7th time in 8 years won the Virginia HCCA
Safety Award for Heavy/Highway Construction. Shirley
is very pleased to have received this coveted award
for the 7th time. (Heavy Construction Contractors Association).

The purpose of this project was to enhance existing
security at the Pentagon by means of roadway access
reconfiguration and the installation of security and
access control devices (security stations, pop up and
crash rated barriers, security fencing and related infrastructure).
Significant modifications to the Route 27 / Columbia
Pike interchange and the Pentagon's internal roadway
network were required in order to meet project requirements. |
